“Most people spend weeks picking a wallpaper pattern and five minutes thinking about the wall color next to it. That is almost always the wrong order.”
What I Cover
I write Think Noir's educational guides on color, light, and room architecture. My focus is on the decisions that actually change how a room feels: scale, proportion, the direction your light comes from, and the wall colors that sit next to your wallpaper.
I cover color theory in plain language, how to read a room before you commit to a pattern, and the common mistakes that send people back to square one. If you have ever painted a wall and hated it once it dried, or hung a wallpaper that felt wrong the moment it went up, my guides are written to prevent exactly that.
Interests & Focus Areas
- Color theory and how undertones behave in real rooms
- Natural light, room orientation, and how they change a color
- Pattern scale and proportion for different wall sizes
- Pairing wall color with wallpaper so the two work together
- Reading a room before committing to a pattern
Background
I studied interior design before spending several years as a junior editor at a residential design studio in New York, working across client projects from initial mood boards through to finished rooms. I moved into design writing to reach a wider audience than any single studio could. At Think Noir I focus on educational content that helps readers make confident decisions without needing to hire a designer.
